What to expect

Piazza del Duomo is one of those places that never ceases to amaze. Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, its grandeur is always awe-inspiring. That’s why we’ve designed a tour entirely dedicated to Florence’s spiritual heart, allowing you to visit all its main monuments.

We’ll begin at the Baptistery, which Dante Alighieri affectionately called “my beautiful Saint John.” For over 1,000 years, its walls have witnessed the baptisms of countless generations of Florentines.

Next, we’ll dive into the Cathedral’s history, from its origins as the ancient Church of Santa Reparata to the foundation of Santa Maria del Fiore, an ambitious project that took nearly 600 years to complete. At its heart lies Brunelleschi’s Dome, a marvel of engineering that continues to inspire admiration (and debate) to this day.

But there’s more! We’ll visit the Opera del Duomo Museum, home to original masterpieces created for the square, including the Baptistery Doors, the Cathedral’s ancient façade, Donatello’s haunting Mary Magdalene, and Michelangelo’s moving Deposition.

And if you’re still craving more, you may have the chance (depending on availability) to climb the Dome itself – an unforgettable experience offering breathtaking views over Florence.
